Irene’s gold bracelet
I think this photo is lovely.. I realized too, that the beautiful gold bracelet Irene is wearing in this photo is one she wears in several photos. I recognized it because my mother now owns it and enjoys wearing it often.

About Irene
Irene is my grand-aunt, and admired for her work in women's fashion and Hollywood costume design. Her talent as a successful clothing designer in Los Angeles led to her long career as a costume designer for many great films in Hollywood.. until her sudden death in 1962. Hi Karlyn, Just wanted to let you know that Ann Rutherford (“Gone With The Wind,” “Andy Hardy,” etc.) gave a presentation at the Kent State University Museum, and she was quite informative. I asked her about Irene, since
she was dressed by all the great studio designers of Hollywood’s Golden Age and she was speechless and said:
“When you said Irene…her clothes…Irene was cherished by all.” So that is exciting to know that Irene is still considered among the greatest Hollywood designers, and by those with whom she worked. I’m going to provide more about Irene in the future as I’m getting the book about her ready to send to the publisher for a review.
