About Irene
Irene is my grand-aunt, and admired for her work in women's fashion and Hollywood costume design. Her talent as a successful clothing designer in Los Angeles led to her long career as a costume designer for many great films in Hollywood.. until her sudden death in 1962. Karlyn: These early photos of Irene and your granddad are so wonderful! Thanks for sharing them. This confirms that Kline and Irene were raised at youngsters in Minnesota, and they had family there, according to the census records I’ve researched. They also had other family in South Dakota; seems as if the Lentzes were plentiful in these areas and some of them like Irene’s family moved to Montana, where there are other Lentzes. Wow, you have a huge family! Notice how starched and fashionable Irene looked even as a child. She never lost that look in her years of fashion designing.
